Daniel Franzese reveals body transformation after dropping 135 pounds - Queerty

Actor and comic Daniel Franzese, 48, has shared photos from his weight-loss journey.

The Mean Girls star responded to a viral post from a user on Threads depicting photos of their weight loss. They invited people to “Show your weightloss transformations. Let’s motivate and inspire someone today.”

Franzese posted two photos, showing himself when he was heavier alongside a more recent photo.

“3 years. Down 135lbs No booze, No sugar, workout 4 times a week (or more) now counting macros.”

Career

Franzese was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He got his breakout role in Mean Girls in 2004. He has since appeared in Looking, the 2010 reboot of I Spit on Your Grave, and Stop! That! Train! (which is now streaming on Netflix), among other projects.

He’s also pivoted into stand-up comedy and is a regular face on the LA comedy and improv scene.

He’s long been an advocate for body positivity. In 2022, he expressed frustration at the fact that Brendan Fraser was cast to play the role of an obese gay man in The Whale when there were plus-size gay actors, such as himself, available. Fraser, who wore a fat suit for the role, went on to win an Oscar.

You can, of course, support showcasing bigger bodies and still desire to lose weight for health reasons.

Franzese told TMZ in summer 2025 that he was losing weight following a health scare earlier in the year. The outlet caught up with Franzese as he was heading into a workout at a gym. He said he’d tried Ozempic, but it wasn’t the best fit for him. It seems he’s going about losing weight the old-fashioned way: Drastically cutting down his sugar intake and upping the exercise.

According to IMDB, Franzese will next be seen on the big screen in National Lampoon’s Hollywood Hustle, alongside Alec Baldwin and Nick Cannon.
