Legendary hitmaker celebrates inclusion alongside music’s greatest names, reflecting on his personal history with Elvis Presley
MEMPHIS, TENN. — Thursday, September 3, 2026 — Tony Orlando has been named among the honorees featured in the Icons Exhibit at Elvis Presley’s Graceland, joining the ranks of the legendary artists celebrated at the world-famous Memphis landmark.
Orlando’s inclusion carries particular resonance: “Halfway to Paradise,” his breakout 1961 hit written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, was known to be one of Elvis Presley’s favorite songs. The recognition adds a full-circle moment to a friendship and mutual admiration that dates back decades, to when Orlando shared the stage with Presley at the Hilton in Las Vegas.
Orlando, who has spoken often of the deep respect he held for Presley both as a performer and as a friend, reflected on the honor in a personal statement:
