We have some fresh updates this week that should make the Bloody Disgusting Database & Community a little easier to use and give horror fans more ways to engage with each other.
We’ve also imported another batch of films, including a whole bunch of your requests, bringing the database to 11,406 films and counting. Fire in the Sky was just added by user request, so now we can all lose sleep together after reliving that operating table scene.
Here are a few of the latest changes:
- User lists can now have descriptions, giving you some space to give more context to what your list is all about.
- You can now like other user generated lists. We’ll also start highlighting the most popular lists throughout the database so more horror fans can discover them.
- Liking a list will now trigger a notification, so you can see when other members are engaging with the lists you create.
- If you’ve already watched a film, it’ll now be dimmed and marked with a WATCHED badge, making it much easier to see films you’ve watched and find ones you haven’t.
- Comments and likes on your lists now count toward your user score. If you’ve already left comments those points have been added to your profile.
As always, we’re continuing to add movies, improve features, and build out the community side of the Bloody Disgusting Database. Keep sending us your film requests and feedback! We’re building this for you, and your suggestions are helping shape what we add next.
We have some fun challenges planned for October, so if you don’t have a profile make sure you get signed up.
We’ll also have more news about the new comments replacing Disqus as well as Bloody Disgusting message boards soon. Stay tuned.
