Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, Street Fighter is projected to close out its opening weekend with a 3-day total of $51.1 million worldwide, comprising $30 million from domestic theaters and an additional $21.1 million from international markets. In addition to pushing the movie past the $50 million global milestone in just three days, this total sees Street Fighter outgrossing three of the six major video game movies of the year in just one weekend.
Those titles would be the Japanese horror movie Exit 8 ($43.9 million), Markiplier’s indie smash Iron Lung ($50 million), and the standalone sequel Return to Silent Hill ($47.5 million).
