BIP Alum Joe Amabile Reveals Frankenstein Brain Surgery Scar


Joe Amabile only briefly appeared on Becca Kufrin’s season ofThe Bachelorette. His charm won over viewers even though Becca sent him home on night one. He returned to the franchise for Seasons 5 and 7 of Bachelor In Paradise. He was one of several couples who found love on Season 7. “Grocery Store Joe” married Serena Pitt in 2022. She was by his side when he underwent a scary brain surgery in August after a shocking diagnosis. After weeks of keeping his scar literally under wraps, Joe Amabile revealed the Frankenstein scar from the surgery.

Bachelor In Paradise Alum Recovering After Brain Surgery

Joe Amabile partnered with the company Prenuvo to promote their proactive full-body MRI scans. The scans are used to find hidden medical issues early. But theBIP alum found more than he bargained for. The scan revealed a lesion on his brain that could have gone undetected for years. He had surgery in early August to remove the small tumor.

The beloved Bachelor Nation star has kept fans updated on his recovery. His recovery is going as well as can be expected. However, he did reveal a battle with fatigue and other side effects from the surgery. He shaved his head before the surgery to make it easier for the doctors. Joe Amabile kept his head covered with bandages in the days after the surgery. But now, he’s ready to reveal the shocking scar from the brain surgery.

Joe Amabile is doing his best to recover from the brain surgery. So is his body. He took to social media to finally reveal his surgery scar.“I feel like my scar is coming along pretty nicely,” he captioned a carousel of the scar’s progression.

One photo shows the scar right after the surgery, when he first got home, and then after he got the staples out.

He shared a fourth photo of how it looks now with his hair growing back. The scar is still visible now but if his hair grows out, you’d never know he had brain surgery.

His followers took to the comments with well-wishes and stories of their own brain surgery scars.
