As the Trump administration continues to outdo itself with absurdities, Americans are finding it increasingly difficult to tell parody from reality.
The latest example: a post from the officialWhite House Rapid Response 47 social media account thanking Donald Trump for stopping hurricanes.

Meteorologist Chris Martz (who has been dubbed the anti-Greta Thunberg and does not believe humans are the main driver of climate change) posted to X on Saturday to celebrate that zero hurricanes have formed in the North Atlantic Ocean so far this year, which he explained is “the FIRST time on record in the satellite era (since 1966) that we have made it to September 12th without at least one Atlantic hurricane yet in the calendar year.”
“History has been made!” Martz wrote, adding that “this is also the first time since at least 1941 this has happened” and “If we get through September 21st without any hurricane formations, it will be the first time since 1914 (there were none that season).”
That same day, the White House reposted Martz’s message and wrote: “Thank you, President Trump!”
Folks cannot believe the administration is actually trying to claim Trump has stopped hurricanes from forming.
