It can take the fun out of the show, but this is who she is. When Bruno Tonioli gives his critique, he is so charismatic that it does not matter what else he says. As for Derek Hough, he was once a professional dancer on the show, so what he says holds a lot of weight. Still, he can be tough on the dancers, but it does not stand out as much anymore because the focus is all on Carrie Ann.
In a clip shared to Reddit, a viewer noticed that Carrie Ann will say her critique and then Derek will immediately comment. However, he notes how tough his fellow judge is being, almost joking that he is scared now. The viewer felt that he was using Carrie Ann to make himself look like a good guy on the show when he is just as bad as she is. They then asked:
