C. Tangana has returned to his rap roots with “Milko Freestyle,” a new track in which the Spanish artist reflects on the death of a close friend, becoming a father, and the unexpected turns his career has taken since the release of El Madrileño.
The release comes as Tangana prepares to reunite with Agorazein, the Madrid rap collective that helped launch his career. The group, which also includes Sticky M.A., Jerv.AGZ, I-Ace, and Fabianni, will return to the stage for four concerts at Madrid’s Movistar Arena from November 15th through 18th, marking the 10th anniversary of their 2016 album Siempre.
Produced by hip-hop duo KevD and Jambo, “Milko Freestyle” finds Tangana revisiting the sound that defined his early career, while delivering some of his most personal lyrics to date. He addresses the death of his friend and collaborator Milkman, recalling the experience of traveling to Mexico as his friend was dying, before turning to the birth of his son and the responsibilities of fatherhood.

He reflects on the criticism he faced from fellow rappers, the financial losses associated with his touring ambitions, and his complicated relationship with the music industry.
