DC Officially Confirms Dark Teen Titans Reboot, And Its Only Months Away

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

DC confirms a dark reimagining of the Teen Titans is making its debut next month. Just as the Justice League is the collection of the world’s most powerful and important heroes in virtually every DC timeline, the Teen Titans are the next generation of heroes. Most of the time, the Teen Titans are founded or composed in their early days by legendary former sidekicks and young vigilantes like Dick Grayson, Wally West, Donna Troy, Roy Harper, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg.

Though the Teen Titans’ roster and origins change drastically between timelines, the central premise and the heroes’ dynamics are remarkably consistent. In DC Comics’ main continuity, the Titans have faced everything from Deathstroke’s calculated vendettas to Trigon’s demonic invasions, with storylines such as The Judas Contract establishing the team as a major force in DC’s superhero mythos. Their importance goes beyond their own adventures, too, as former Titans often become central figures in the wider DC Universe, eventually taking their mentors’ places among the Justice League and other major superhero teams.

Absolute Teen Titans Is Officially Arriving This November

DC Is Introducing Absolute Cyborg And His Teen Titans Teammates Soon

On Instagram, Absolute Flash writer Jeff Lemire announces that Absolute Cyborg is making his grand debut in issue #21 of Wally West’s solo series, following the spectacular introduction of Ray Palmer aka Absolute Atom in Absolute Flash #19 and #20. This new version of Cyborg sports dreads and bulkier armor, with spiky plates decorated with red bulbs and numerous wires. Most notably, the main covers for Absolute Flash #21 and #22 reveal that most of Victor Stone’s body is unscathed, and only his left arm is replaced with a huge metallic arm, and his left eye and left shoulder are cybernetic.

Lemire adds that, “The Absolute Teen Titans are coming to the book in a big way, starting with Issue 25!” So far, no promotional art for Absolute Flash #25 has been unveiled, but it’s safe to say that other members of the Teen Titans will be introduced in between issues #22 and #25, or at least teased before their official introduction.
