Grand Theft Auto V is still going remarkably strongly considering it has been out in the wild for well over a decade, and players continue to return to it in their thousands every day. Those numbers have received a bit of a boost ahead of the release of the next game in the series, which is planning on making a subtle, quiet entrance in November.
Though Rockstar is undoubtedly very busy dusting off the final bits and pieces on that ahead of the big day, they have been admirably diligent about maintaining the existing game to keep it interesting. Much of that effort goes into regular events for GTA Online, and the latest of those is now live, with plenty of rewards for players to pick up.
As first reported by Rockstar Intel, the latest Weekly Update has begun, and there’s good fun to be had and money to be earned, if you know where to look. The latest event runs from June 4- June 10, so this weekend is probably the best time to get everything you want out of it.
First up, seven new community missions have been added to the rotation, completing all of which will reward you with $500,000 for your character. The full list of missions you’ll need to complete is as follows:
- Los Santos 2062 by ShelbyGR-1
- Juggernightmare by GTA Series Videos
- Old School Hits by GTA Series Videos
- Paleto Bay Slasher by Shadow-Break
- The Scrumble Heist by SergeantDexter
- Running the Gauntlet by Sarah-Croft
- Detective Story by BooCooSocial
At the same time, the FIB Priority File this time around is The Project Breakaway File, which rewards double the usual monetary incentive if you get it done. Three Salvage Yard Robberies are also available to complete, with solid automotive rewards if you do:
- The Cargo Ship Robbery: Benefactor SM722
- The McTony Robbery: Annis ZR350
- The Duggan Robbery: Dinka Sugoi
Lastly, the Vapid GB200 is available as the podium vehicle on show at the Casino. It usually costs $940,000 from Legendary Motorsport, so if you can pick it up via a free spin then it’s well worth doing, with GTA+ members getting an additional opportunity to win.
We’re yet to hear from Rockstar about what exactly their plans are for GTA Online and our existing characters, though it’s probably a fairly safe assumption that there will be a certain amount of starting again when Grand Theft Auto VI comes around. In the meantime, we may as well have some fun in the last throes of the game’s primary prominence.
