After a few days of speculation and questioning, it has been confirmed that Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown has died. His brother, Bear Brown, made the heartbreaking post on Saturday, May 30th, and shared the details. Keep reading for what is currently known.

Matt Brown Dead At 43

It was not long ago that Bear Brown shared that his brother, Matt Brown, was missing. Moreover, the Alaskan Bush People star had allegedly been seen by the Okanogan River in Washington. Then, a gun went off, and a body was supposedly floating face down. A search went on for the body, but it had to be called off due to treacherous waters. Bear would come out and give some updates, but fans were not happy. They felt that he was jumping the gun, plus Matt was giving updates from a social media account. Therefore, he may have still been alive, or he had prescheduled them, knowing what was happening.

He had long struggled in his life, but no one expected him to take his own life. As the time wore on, Bear stated he would stop posting. Then, on the evening of May 30th, he confirmed the worst. Matt Brown was dead at the age of 43. Their brother, Noah, had gone and seen the body, identifying who it was. Bear seemed to want the public, who had faithfully followed the story, to hear it from him. He shared that he felt that if anything would take his brother, it would be addiction. However, he never thought that Matt would take his own life.

This was not what anyone wanted for the Alaskan Bush People star, but it is what happened. Now, the family must all rally together for their mother, Ami, and those who knew and loved him. It is imperative to destigmatize mental health issues and unite for the sake of Matt’s legacy.

Fans React

After Bear Brown shared the news, Alaskan Bush People fans immediately hopped to the comments. They had a lot to say about what went down, and many felt awful that Noah Brown had to be the one to identify his brother:

  • Oh poor Noah. What a hard thing to have to do.

  • I’m very sorry for your loss. It’s heartbreaking.
