Martha Stewart Is Opening Her First Restaurant in Las Vegas This Year

Martha Stewart has long been the definitive expert when it comes to all things domestic and culinary, and now, for the first time ever, the lifestyle legend is opening up her own restaurant.

Stewart confirmed to People that she plans to launch a farm-to-table restaurant, called The Bedford, at the Paris Las Vegas in the spring, although no official date has been given. The “fully-immersive concept” behind this dining experience is meant to transport guests to her iconic country farmhouse in Bedford, New York. While the Martha Stewart Living host has tackled a wide array of projects in the past, from home goods to cooking alongside Snoop Dogg, she confessed that starting her own restaurant is an idea she’s always found to be particularly daunting. “We have toyed with the idea for a long, long time,” she told the outlet. “I just personally was never really ready to do something so large as this. It really is a lot of stuff to do!”

But when Caesars Entertainment approached her with the idea, she continued, “They made us an offer we couldn’t refuse. The team at Caesars is just amazing. They’re so, so productive and so creative. I like working with people like that. And this is an opportunity to extend the brand in an area where I’ve always wanted to be but never really did enter.” Stewart is also using her discerning eye to design the restaurant’s rustic-chic interiors, which will all be done in a neutral palette. She explains, “It’s a charming restaurant. It’s completely fashioned after the winter house at my farm in Bedford, where I basically live. There’s a kitchen, a dining room, a brown room, a green room—it’s very similar in the finishes of my home, and the furnishings are all kind of replicas of a very familiar space to many, many, many Americans. And it’s intimate, yet large enough for people to really enjoy.”

But when it comes to the food, she hasn’t quite landed on what exactly the menu will entail just yet, but she assures fans it will be “very delicious, and food you’ll want to come back to. Our menu is based on freshness and availability.” She adds, “I’m picking my family and friends’ favorites, things I have been known for—like wonderful breads and baked goods—and dishes you might not find in other restaurants, like pastas and soups that are unique to the Martha brand. I just want to make sure that everybody gets a taste of the delicious food that has long come out of my kitchen. You’re going to love it.”

And if you don’t love The Bedford, Stewart jokingly points out, “Nobu’s going to be right across the hall. I love Nobu so if I get tired of eating at my restaurant, I’m going to eat right across the hall at Nobu.”
