Oprah Winfrey Will Host Prime Time Interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Oprah Winfrey will host a prime time television special on CBS on Sunday March 7, an interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. It will be the couple’s first lengthy television interview since their engagement, and certainly the first since they exited their royal duties last year.

The news comes just one day after their surprise Valentine’s Day announcement that they are expecting a second child.

A statement from CBS said “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.” The statement continued, “later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

Winfrey attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding at Windsor Castle in May 2018 and now the three of them all happen to be neighbors in Montecito, California. (The idea probably came to them when they all bumped into each other at 7-Eleven buying Pop-Tarts.)

Recently, Harry and Meghan signed content creation deals with Netflix and Spotify as part of their effort to make a living outside of the Royal Family. This May marks a full decade since Winfrey ended her daily talk show program.

In April 2019 it was announced that Prince Harry would partner with Winfrey for an Apple TV+ series concerning mental health.

As People reminded its readers, this past December Oprah shared an Instagram video in which she opened up a Christmas basket from “my neighbor ‘M’.”
