Five months after the NBA star’s untimely passing, Vanessa Bryant is still uncovering some of the sentimental items her husband Kobe Bryant gave her over the course of their 20-year marriage.
Bryant posted a side-by-side photo to her Instagram account showing the seafoam green tutu dress that Carrie Bradshaw wears in the Sex and the City finale, which Bryant now owns as a gift from her husband.
“I love you my baby @kobebryant I found this beautiful dress Kob gifted me a long time ago,” she wrote over the image. “Not going to lie, I was taken back with emotion. He was SO romantic. Still showing me he [loves] me from Heaven. Love you forever boo-boo. #BestoftheBest.” She added in the caption of the shot, “When Mr. Big gets Carrie back. Paris. Missing my boo-boo and my sweet girl. So nice to have found this dress today. You set the bar so high baby. No love like REAL LOVE.”
Bryant isn’t the only one enamored with this particular finale look; even Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Bradshaw on the show, says it’s her favorite outfit from that episode. The actress told Entertainment Weekly, “I think I loved the tutu dress that I wore at the end of the Paris episode because it was an outfit that was about an image that Carrie had, which was, like so often happens to Carrie, what she wanted to project onto the scenario of wearing that dress, a pie in her face. That outfit got to tell so many stories, and it was such a romantic outfit and it was so delicate and it had so much grace to it, and it ran around Paris, and that was not how she had imagined that outfit.”
And thanks to the Bryants, that outfit’s romantic story just got a whole new chapter.
