Roger Corman’s First Production ‘Monster from the Ocean Floor’ Swims Onto Blu-ray Next Month

Terror strikes from beneath the sea when Monster from the Ocean Floor hits Blu-ray and DVD on February 4 via Film Masters.

The 1954 creature feature was the first film produced by the legendary Roger Corman. After reading an article about an electric-powered one-man submarine, Corman convinced the company to let the production use one in exchange for free publicity.

Robot Monster writer Wyott Ordung directs from a script by Bill Danch. Anne Kimbell, Stuart Wade, and Dick Pinner star. Corman also has a small role.

Monster from the Ocean Floor has been newly scanned in 4k from the original 35mm camera negative.

In the film, “Julie, an American on vacation in Mexico, spots a giant, one-eyed amoeba rising from the ocean, but when she tries to warn others, no one believes her… or do they? Julie persists in her mission to help the local townspeople, but the closer she gets to unearthing the monster, the more danger awaits!”
