The Sick New World festival is back for another exciting year, with an impressive lineup for 2025.
Set to take place on April 12, 2025 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, the festival will feature legendary headliners Metallica and the freshly reunited Linkin Park. The performance from Linkin Park is expected to be memorable, as the band recently introduced Emily Armstrong (from the band Dead Sara) as their new lead singer in September 2024 for their From Zero World Tour.
In addition to the main acts, fans can expect performances from an array of over 50 bands, including Queens of the Stone Age, Evanescence, AFI, and Mastodon, to name a few. The lineup promises a mix of rock and metal, plus appearances from cult classics and scene veterans like Acid Bath, who will be reuniting for their first performance since 1997.
Beyond the excitement of the festival, there’s a growing anticipation regarding new music from many of the featured bands – namely Linkin Park, who are releasing their new album in November 2024. This is their first album since reuniting after frontman Chester Bennington’s death in July 2017.
Additionally, both Gojira and Mastodon are rumored to be working on new albums, potentially set for release in spring 2025, aligning perfectly with the Vegas fest. Evanescence, AFI, and Three Days Grace are also in the mix for new releases, with Three Days Grace reuniting with original vocalist Adam Gontier for their forthcoming project.
The Sick New World festival was established to celebrate the hard rock, nu-metal, and underground music scene. Since its beginning in 2023, it has become a significant event in the music calendar – with bands like System of A Down, Korn, and Slipknot headlining the years prior.
