‘Don’t Move’ – New Horror Thriller from ‘Impractical Jokers’ James Murray Finds Its Leads

Upcoming horror thriller movie Don’t Move, from the mind of Impractical Jokers star James “Murr” Murray, adapts best-selling 2020 novel of the same name from co-authors Murray and Darren Wearmouth. Per THR, Don’t Move has found its stars and already wrapped principal photography.

Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass), music star Russ, and Tom Cavanagh (The Flash) will star in the horror thriller.

Don’t Move follows “Megan Forrester (Fonseca), who joins her church group on a camping getaway after losing her family in a tragic accident. The trip takes a turn when the group, including mysterious member Ricky Vargas (Russ), mistakenly ends up in an area of the forest targeted by a dangerous predator.”

Maclain Nelson (Vamp U) directed the film from the script he co-wrote with Murray and Wearmouth.

Hunter King (Life in Pieces), Rob Riggle (The Hangover), and Joseph Lee Anderson (Young Rock) round out the ensemble cast. Expect plenty of cameos, too, that will include T-Pain, Matt Biedel, and Impractical Jokers members Murray and Brian Quinn.

“A lot of folks ask me how an Impractical Joker can write horror,” Murr says in a statement. “One could argue that what they do to me on Jokers is horror. I’m so excited to be working with this incredible team and ensemble cast to bring our novel Don’t Move to the big screen.”

Adds Nelson, “I am thrilled to tackle a true horror film. The ensemble cast we have assembled for this movie is beyond talented. This story will break your heart and then rip it out of your rib cage. I am honored that Murr has trusted me with the script adaptation and direction of his first narrative feature film.”

David M. Wulf produces the film that hails from Murr’s new banner Impractical Studios and counts Jeremy Starline, Gina James, Lou Magrone, Rich Osiashvili and Brian Schell as executive producers. Ethan Berman is a co-producer, while Kylie Rohead associate produces.

Murray has been showcasing his improv and comedic chops since Impractical Jokers debuted in 2011. Stay tuned for more on Don’t Move and Murray’s foray into horror. That might include a name change; don’t confuse Don’t Move with this week’s Netflix release, also titled Don’t Move.
