Charli XCX and Kesha Drop Remix of “Spring Breakers”: Stream

Charli XCX and Kesha have dropped a surprise new remix of the Brat bonus track “Spring Breakers.” Stream the new version of the song below.

Even before the release of Brat in June, a truck displaying “Kesha” on top of a very specific green background seemed to tease that the pop star would feature on the new Charli release. Despite the hint, Kesha was nowhere to be found on the Brat tracklist, nor was she on the deluxe version of the album, Brat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs so it’s not, or the recently released remix project Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat.

Today, however, Charli and Kesha finally make good on their Brat promise. Unlike many of the cuts on Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, which were often markedly different than the original, “Spring Breakers” remains largely intact. While the production is about the same, Kesha replaces one of Charli’s verses with one of her own. Listen to it for yourself below.

Kesha is just the latest high-profile artist to join forces with Charli XCX, as the remix album boasts names like Billie Eilish, Lorde, Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, Ariana Grande, Julian Casablancas, and more.

Charli XCX completely dominated the summer with Brat, an album Consequence called “a whirlwind rave that can be icy, acid-fried, or utterly entrancing.” Kesha, for her part, made a splash in the summer months as well, releasing her first song not on a Dr. Luke-related record label, “Joy Ride.”

Charli XCX is currently on the road for her “Sweat” tour with Troye Sivan, an incredibly high-energy outing that’s proven to be one of the best pop events of the year; read our review here. Look for deals and grab last-minute tickets here.
