We already knew that WayForward and Sunsoft were going to give us Clock Tower: Rewind for Halloween, but now, it’s somehow been made even better. While Japan will be getting the remake on October 31, Western countries (that includes the Americas and Europe) will see Clock Tower: Rewind launch on October 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.
“This fall is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling and action-packed periods in WayForward’s history,” said WayForward’s Voldi Way in a press release. “Just in time for spooky season, Clock Tower: Rewind will allow horror fans to finally experience an acclaimed 16-bit classic.”
Clock Tower: Rewind is the resurrection of the 1995 Super Famicom game by Human Entertainment, Clock Tower, officially translated and released outside of Japan for the first time. Featuring the original graphics, sound, and gameplay of the classic release, the groundbreaking title challenges players to escape the terrifying Barrows family manor, where they’ll be pursued by the relentless, murderous, shears-wielding Scissorman.
The game also includes Rewind Mode, which adds extra content and quality-of-life improvements, along with numerous extra features including a new animated intro, vocal songs by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Silent Hill series) and Emi Evans (NieR series), motion comics with voiceovers, an art gallery, save states, a rewind function, a music player, and other bonuses.
