Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have officially unveiled their new collaborative single, “Die With a Smile.”
Described by the two powerhouse artists themselves as a “timeless ballad,” “Die With a Smile” marks the first-ever team-up from Gaga and Bruno, while also acting as their first new music releases since 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Lady Gaga has been steadily teasing a new album, currently nicknamed LG7 as her seventh studio LP, for the past few months. She took to Twitter to share, “While you wait for LG7…’Die With a Smile,’ a duet with Bruno Mars.”
Discussing how the track came together, Gaga explained, “Bruno and I have a lot of mutual respect for each other and were talking about collaborating. I was finishing up my own album in Malibu and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to hear something he was working on. It was around midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started making. We stayed up all night and finished writing and recording the song. Bruno’s talent is beyond explanation. His musicianship and vision is next level. There’s no one like him.”
While in the midst of album work, Gaga also recently appeared at the Olympics, where she played a short clip from the forthcoming project outside of her Paris hotel. She’s also set to appear in Joker: Folie à Deux, which arrives in theaters on October 4th, 2024.
Meanwhile, Mars recently extended his Las Vegas residency with the addition of a new run of concerts at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas in December. Get tickets here.
