Benji Gregory, Child Star of ALF, Dead at 46


Benji Gregory, who played the role of young Brian Tanner on the television sitcom ALF, died on June 13th at the age of 46.

Gregory’s sister told TMZ that her brother was found dead in his car in a Peoria, Arizona parking lot. A cause of death is still under investigation, but Gregory suffered from from depression, bipolar disorder, and a severe sleep disorder. His family believes he went to the bank to deposit a check, fell asleep in his car, and died from a vehicular heatstroke.

Gregory starred on ALF from 1986 to 1990, appearing in a total of 101 episodes as the Tanner family’s middle child.

Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Gregory also made guest appearances on shows including Murphy Brown, The A-Team, T.J. Hooker, Amazing Stories, and Punky Brewster.

In 2003, Gregory enlisted in the US Navy. He served two years before receiving an honorable medical discharge.
