Kanye West once said that his pornography “addiction” is what “destroyed” his family. Now, he’s evidently taking cues from the saying “If you can’t beat them, join them,” and is planning on launching his very own porn studio and brand.
The news comes from a Yeezy rep who spoke with TMZ, revealing that West is “dead set” on going into the porn industry, and he and his partners are “in advanced talks to actually get something up and running.” Ultimately, West is looking at creating a “Yeezy Porn studio” as part of a “broader adult entertainment division” at his parent Yeezy company.
To help with the endeavor, West has even teamed up with porn producer Mike Moz, the ex-husband of Stormy Daniels (who’s hush money trail with Donald Trump is ongoing). According to TMZ’s report, the project could be launched as early as this summer.
Of course, the subject of this new venture isn’t too shocking considering the stories that have come out over the years about West’s disturbing relationship with porn, as well as his inclination for, uh, very public displays of affection with new “wife” Bianca Censori. He was even the creative director for the 2018 Pornhub Awards.
The timing isn’t too surprising either, in light of the rapper’s ongoing economic woes. Since going full Public Dumbass with his antisemitic, Nazi-sympathizing comments in 2022, West has lost his brand deals, taking a loss of $1.5 billion in a matter of weeks. Now, he’s struggling to sell his inexplicably-gutted Malibu mansion, even dropping the price from $53 million to $39 million.
Does he see porn as his ticket back to billionaire status? Or is it just the only thing he’s passionate about now? Who’s to say. What we do know is that his “born-again Christian” beliefs likely won’t stand in his way — if cognitive dissonance was going to stop Ye, you’d think it would’ve happened by now.
In other Kanye news, he was sued last month by a former Yeezy and Donda Academy employee who claimed the rapper told students he wanted to shave their heads and lock them in cages, among other allegations.
