Heartstopper actor announces engagement in heartwarming post

Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches announced his engagement to his boyfriend, Scott Johnston, on social media.

“I never thought I’d find someone who’s gets me and loves me for me,” he wrote in his Instagram post that included a photo of the two men surrounded by a heart made of rose petals.

“I have always struggled connecting my emotions in relationships and then [Johnston] came. I felt safe and accepted and most importantly loved.”

Riches, who portrays James McEwan on the hit Netflix show, had an increased role in the last season. His character was interested in a romantic relationship with actor Tobie Donovan’s character, Isaac, who is asexual.

Riches is expected to appear in the upcoming and highly anticipated third season.

He also competed in the recent comeback season of the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in sixth place.

The announcement quickly garnered well-wishes for the couple, from fellow Heartstoppers stars Kit Conner, Bel Priestly, and Corrina Brown. Celebrity Big Brother host AJ Odudo and former Drag Race UK‘s Vanity Milan and Danny Beard contestant Sandro Farmhouse also offered congratulations along with Drag Race UK‘s Vanity Milan and Danny Beard.
