‘Salem’s Lot’ Remake Footage Just Debuted at CinemaCon – Check Out Some Social Reactions

Warner Bros. is bringing a brand new feature film adaptation of Stephen King‘s Salem’s Lot to theaters on September 9, and the first footage just debuted at CinemaCon tonight.

As always, this particular footage won’t be making its way online, but we do have some social media reactions that at least help paint a picture of what was shown.

Jeff Sneider tweets, for starters, “SALEM’S LOT does indeed look like a smart theatrical play, and closes with a killer trailer moment similar to that first CONJURING trailer that helped make that movie such a hit. Just swap in Bill Camp for Lily Taylor.”

Take a bite out of some other social media reactions below!

James Wan is producing Salem’s Lot 2022 for Warner Bros. and New Line, with Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home) writing the script and also directing.

Haunted by an incident from his childhood, author Ben Mears returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover the town is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire and his Loyola servant.”

The cast includes Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, Spencer Treat Clark, Cade Woodward, Debra Christofferson, and Pilou Asbaek.

Fresh off Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Tobe Hooper directed the very first adaptation of Salem’s Lot back in 1979, and a new mini-series followed in its wake more recently, in 2004.

Roy Lee and Mark Wolper will also produce the new movie, with Dauberman exec producing.
