Meghan Markle Looked Chic In Jeans and a Tweed Jacket at Driving Challenge Event

Early on Saturday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge in anticipation of tonight’s Invictus Games opening ceremony. While Harry was wearing a polo with the event’s logo, Meghan was looking chic in a tweed jacket with gold button detail that cropped at her waist. Under that, she wore a simple white t-shirt tucked into a pair of loose-fitting blue jeans.

Meghan had her hair up in a ponytail, a slightly smokey eye and simple make up, and accessorized with a pair of aviator sunglasses, a gold necklace, and a small black handbag slung over her shoulder on a gold chain.

Though the event was primarily about driving skill and navigation for adults, both Meghan and Harry took a spin in some child-sized rovers driven by adorable kids.

This year’s Invictus Games is taking place in the Netherlands, and it is the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been in Europe together since leaving their duties with the royal family. The event was originally scheduled for 2020, and delayed due to COVID-19. The Invictus Games were founded by Harry as a competition for international athletes who are wounded service members and veterans.

In November 2021, Prince Harry said at a gala at the Intrepid Museum in New York City that he created the Invictus Games “to honor the legacy of those who have given so much” and to show “that the men and women who have experienced service injuries, as well as their families, are the strongest people in the world…and they deserve a platform to be seen, a platform to be recognized and a platform to be truly celebrated.”

In a speech on Saturday, Harry also shouted out his son Archie, and how the Games inspire him.

“When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut… a pilot… or Quasi from Octonauts,” he joked. “But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most.”
