Foo Fighters have canceled their performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Rolling Stone reports. Hawkins died last week in Bogotá, Colombia ahead of the band’s scheduled performance at Festival Estéreo Picnic. He was 50 years old.

Foo Fighters were announced as Grammy performers days before Hawkins’ death. Earlier this week, the band canceled all of their upcoming tour dates. “We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned,” the band wrote. “Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.”

Variety recently published a report stating that Sunday’s Grammys ceremony will feature a tribute to Hawkins. “We will honor his memory in some way,” CBS’ executive vice president of specials, music, and live events Jack Sussman told Variety. “We want to figure out what is the right thing to do that is respectful to everyone involved. We’re patient. We’ll be planning right up until the very end.”

Foo Fighters are nominated in three categories at this year’s Grammy Awards: Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album.
