Grindr has finally answered the age-old question asked by countless bottoms across the world: ‘Where in God’s name are all the tops?’

The world’s most popular queer dating app has revealed which countries have the most tops and bottoms as its annual Grindr Unwrapped report dropped Tuesday (28 December).

Taking a cue from the likes of Spotify Wrapped, Grindr once again broke down the top (bottom and vers) trends within its raunchy user base and ranked each country or city with the highest percentage for that respective trend.

The Philippines boasts the highest amount of tops in the world, according to the report of the app’s 13 million users. Colombia, Israel, Argentina and India follow with coming out on top when it comes to tops.

But for tops looking to wrangle themselves a fine bottom, Vietnam is home to the largest proportion of users who list themselves as bottoms, followed by China, South Africa, Peru and Poland.

Proving the range that they have, queer men in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Romania, Russia and the Czech Republic are the most likely to list themselves as vers.

Grindr users proudly tell the world they are ‘vaccinated’ in droves

Hormones run the highest in the US, which has the highest percentage of users looking for right now, coming behind sufficiently thirsty Australia, Britain, Ireland and Canada.

Australian users, meanwhile, are also more likely to accept not safe for work pictures, while India has the highest percentage of users in open relationships.

For those looking for a quick, well, 20-minute city break, Paris has the highest number of Grindr users, with London, New York, São Paulo and Los Angeles not too far behind.

And in a sign of the apocalyptic times, the most popular tag used by users was “vaccinated”, followed by the usual suspects: “discreet”, “kissing”, “fwb [friend with benefits]” and “cuddling”. And they say romance is dead, eh?

The top Grindr profile songs are all pretty, well, bottom. “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat and Sza was listed the most by users.

In not at all surprising news, queer folk also love Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me“, Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)“, Adele’s “Easy On Me” and Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever”.

The informal report uses anonymous, aggregated data from its 13 million worldwide users who include information on their profiles.

This means that the cheeky list does not represent the queer community as a whole, nor does it capture the entirety of Grindr’s userbase.

“Even with some in-person activities resuming, virtual connection has remained a lifeline for people this year,” said Grindr’s director of marketing, Alex Black, in a press release.

“Grind Unwrapped is a playful way to help our users get to know each other better, it serves as an ice-breaker for conversations on the app and provides some interesting insights into trends from the past year.”
