Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian West have taken the plunge. Well, a plunge. The pair were spotted having a fun time at Knott’s Scary Farm, the popular annual Halloween makeover of Knott’s Berry Farm in Orange County, California.
In photographs exclusive to PEOPLE, the two can be seen side-by-side and holding hands on a roller coaster, making faces as the ride shimmies them from side-to-side. Due to the close-up nature of the images, it is unclear if they are experiencing centripetal or centrifugal force.
While zooming on the coaster, Kardashian West’s eyes are closed, and her mouth is open in what seems like an exaggerated squeal. Davidson’s face is one of glee but on the precipice of regret. (The woman in front of them looks like she just stepped on a LEGO.) Either way, the pair’s hand-in-hand grip is tight.
A second photo shows them on some sort of log flume, a ride that doubles as an old high school trick for getting close-and-snuggly with someone you are sweet on. (Indeed, Saturday Night Live had a sketch about this very matter earlier this year.) Davidson and Kardashian West are absolutely seated in the correct position for “are they going out!?” rumors to flourish. They are also making the “sign of the horns” with their fingers.
A third photo, back on the roller coaster, shows the car’s occupants in a moment of triumph. Though we are not forensic specialists, these photos may be surreptitious captures of the pictures typically sold as one exits a ride area.
A source told the magazine that “it’s just friends hanging out.”
Kourtney Kardashian and her fiancé Travis Barker were also at the park (and seen together in a fourth photo.) PEOPLE points out that Barker and Davidson’s mutual friend Machine Gun Kelly is the reason Davidson has been keeping up with this famous family. (Davidson and MGK co-starred in the spectacular indie film Big Time Adolescence, currently streaming on Hulu.)
Davidson and Kardashian West also shared a scene as Jasmine and Aladdin on SNL earlier this month, which involved a chaste smooch.
As to whether or not the two are more than friends? Well, Davidson does have a track record of attracting women who … oh, how does one put this without seeming rude? Let’s just say many beautiful women, including Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, and Phoebe Dynevor, have wanted to date the 27-year-old comic and actor.
Kardashian West, of course, is in the process of getting divorced from her husband, Kanye West.
Knott’s Scary Farm, which began in 1973, is the largest Halloween event in Southern California, according to its website. In the evenings from mid-September through the end of October, the park is shrouded in fog, offers creepy mazes, and hires performers to wander around as mummies and zombies. We’ll see if this budding friendship continues past the fall, when the monsters depart and berries are again in season.
