Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Are Reportedly “Ready” to Co-Parent

Following their separation at the beginning of the year, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took a long break from one another during which they were almost totally incommunicado. But now, after that time apart, the pair are reportedly finally “ready” to co-parent again, taking their four kids on a trip to San Francisco over the weekend.

The whole family paid a visit to the city’s Asian Art Museum on Saturday before public visiting hours began. According to an Us Weekly source, “They came in as a normal family who was there to have fun. They had light security with them and didn’t even have nannies.” Apparently, someone on West’s team reached out to the museum ahead of time to request a “discrete, private opportunity to come in before opening to the public.” The museum originally expected just the rapper to show up, but were pleasantly surprised when “it turned out to be the whole family.”

The estranged couple brought 8-year-old North, 5-year-old Saint, 3-year-old Chicago, and 2-year-old Psalm to see the museum’s new exhibition by teamLab, a Tokyo-based digital art collective that creates immersive experiences and whose work they previously visited as a family in Japan in 2019. “It was a treat for the little ones and everyone enjoyed the entire experience,” the source added. “They were incredibly gracious and very appreciative. They had a really great time with the kids and everyone looked really happy and in a good mood. The kids were running around and laughing.”

It’s taken Kardashian and West a few months to be able to get to this point in their post-marriage relationship. Right after the reality star filed for separation from her husband of six years, the pair “didn’t have a lot of contact,” another insider told E! News. But now, they’re “talking and getting along well,” and figuring out how to navigate the future of their family. “Kim has always been open to co-parenting together and being able to do things as a family. Kanye needed some time, but he now seems more open to it,” they added. “She knows how important family time is and wants the kids to have a great relationship with Kanye, so she’s willing to do whatever it takes to see that happen.”

Which is also why the Skims founder has been so supportive of West’s budding relationship with supermodel Irina Shayk. Despite Us Weekly‘s report last week that their new connection was already “cooling off,” yet another source told People that West and Shayk are “very much still dating.” That E! News insider also claims, “They are still in touch and he has seen her a few times. He is very interested in dating her and seeing her more.” As for West’s recently-estranged wife, “Kim is fine with Kanye dating,” another People source says. “She just wants him to be happy.”
