Britney Spears: I Won’t Perform on Stage “With My Dad Handling What I Wear”

“Take me as I am,” the legally-mired singer posted on Instagram, along with some saltier words.

Britney Spears, whose legal battle against her conservatorship and father Jamie Spears has become a cause célèbre, took to her Instagram on Saturday to push back against her family and critics.

The singer uploaded an image that said, “Take me as I am or KISS MY ASS EAT SHIT AND STEP ON LEGOS.” In her caption, she also shot back at those who have criticized her recent string of at-home dance routines.

“I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think,” she explained. “I’d much rather share videos YES from my living room instead of onstage in Vegas where some people were so far gone they couldn’t even shake my hand and I ended up getting a contact high from weed all the time,” she added.

Earlier this week, Spears said in a court hearing that she wants to charge her dad with “conservatorship abuse” and she used the popular #FreeBritney hashtag in an Instagram post.

In her latest message, she accused her “so-called support system” of hurting her deeply, and said, “this conservatorship killed my dreams.” She specifically wrote she didn’t like when her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, sang remixes of her songs at an awards show. She is likely referring to the Radio Disney Music Awards in 2017 and a performance of a slightly-altered “Till the World Ends.”

She concluded by restating the value of hope, dreams, and fairy tales. She also told people who weren’t interested in hearing what she had to say to kindly go fly a kite. (She put it in other terms.)

Quick to respond to Britney’s missive were Paris Hilton, who wrote, “Yes live your life beautiful! You deserve your happiness!” with emojis, Selma Blair, who wrote, “I love you. And this. I love watching you on your terms,” and Snooki, who invited Spears to perform in her living room any day. Recently, Spears’s memorable on-stage dance partner Madonna joined the expanding list of celebrities voicing support for Spears in her legal battle.
