Harry Styles performed for the first time at the Grammy Awards on Sunday before picking up his first award, and it seems like his rumored girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, couldn’t be prouder.
The actress-turned-director posted a photo on her Instagram Stories on Monday of a young Paul McCartney taking a big bite out of a slice of watermelon. Fans quickly understood the image to be an homage to Styles and his song “Watermelon Sugar,” which won him a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. In the highly suggestive, fruit-laden music video, the pop star also strikes a very similar pose to McCartney. But that wasn’t the only tribute Wilde posted in honor of Styles’s big night. She followed up the shot of the Beatle with one of a young Mick Jagger performing on stage while wearing a leather suit and red scarf. Jagger’s outfit bears a striking resemblance to the Gucci one worn by the former One Directioner on Sunday, which he paired with a green fuzzy scarf that he dramatically cast off during the performance of his award-winning track.
This isn’t the first time Wilde has used her Instagram to heap praise on Styles. She previously penned a lengthy, effusive Instagram post about the pop star and his performance in their new film, Don’t Worry Darling. Just after Valentine’s Day, she posted a black-and-white shot of Styles in character leaning on a vintage sports car, writing, “Not only did he relish the opportunity to allow for the brilliant @florencepugh to hold center stage as our ‘Alice,’ but he infused every scene with a nuanced sense of humanity. He didn’t have to join our circus, but he jumped on board with humility and grace, and blew us away every day with his talent, warmth, and ability to drive backwards.”
Wilde and Styles first sparked speculation they’re a couple at the beginning of the year when they were photographed arriving hand-in-hand at the Montecito wedding of Styles’s manager, followed by a PDA-heavy stroll around Santa Barbara. Since then, sources have confirmed that, as the costars spent more time together both on and off-set, their friendship “quickly turned romantic” and “their chemistry was very obvious.” But they also reportedly worked hard to keep things “very professional” during filming and created a “loving and warm environment” for both cast and crew.
