Paris Jackson set the record straight about her relationship with Emile Hirsch, making it clear the pair aren’t romantic, just “homies.”
On Wednesday, Hirsch posted a selfie of himself and the daughter of Michael Jackson hanging out in a purple-lit room with the caption, “Hiding out with you.” The photo prompted speculation something more than friendly might be transpiring between the two stars, but according to a source who spoke to People “They’re just friends…homies. They’ve been friends for a long time.” But Jackson didn’t need that source speaking for her, as she confirmed as much herself. The musician jumped into the comment section to defend her friend after a commenter wrote, “this relationship makes me uncomfortable.”
She replied, “He’s actually one of the youngest homies of mine. One of my best friends is in their 50s. You probably don’t have friends older than you because elders may find you annoying or immature lol.” In a second comment, she added, “Not to mention another close friend of mine is 76. age is but a number, i enjoy the company of people of all ages. I am the student and teacher of people from 5 years younger than me to 50 years older than me. nothing wrong with that.” On her Instagram Story, she also shared a meme of someone dressed as No-Face from Studio Ghibli asking “Is that our new BF?” chasing someone labelled “P just taking a pic with [a] guy.” She captioned the post with a simple, “lmao.”
These rumors come after Jackson broke up with her boyfriend of two years, Gabriel Glenn, in August 2020. During the finale of their Facebook Watch series Unfiltered: Paris Jackson and Gabriel Glenn, which aired shortly before the pair announced their split, Jackson revealed that they were “constantly butting heads” because of their astrological signs, calling Glenn “one of many soulmates.” She explained, “I don’t think soulmates are specifically just romantic partners,” she said. “In one life Gabe was probably my daughter. And in another life he was probably my grandpa and then in another life he was probably my worst enemy.”
