Siblings Stand Up and Fight Monsters in Awesome Final Trailer for Netflix’s “Pacific Rim: The Black”

“We’ve got to stand up to monsters.”

After two movies, the monsters vs. robots franchise Pacific Rim is getting its own animated series over at Netflix, the battle between the Kaiju and the Jaegers continuing next week.

It’s titled “Pacific Rim: The Black,” and the streaming service has released the final trailer today, which damn sure suggests that Pacific Rim is one franchise that was absolutely made for this format. After all, the concept of humans piloting giant robots to fight giant monsters sounds like something you’d find in an animated series to begin with, and it’s a wonder it took this long for the films to make the leap from live action. “The Black” introduces us to a colorful new Jaeger named Atlas Destroyer, along with two siblings who will use it to fight Kaiju.

The series premieres on March 4. Preview the monster mayhem down below!

Here’s the full plot synopsis…

“There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.”

The 7 episode (30 mins each) “Pacific Rim: The Black” comes from Legendary Entertainment, and co-creators Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution).

The animation production studio is Polygon Pictures, known for the Netflix Original Anime Series Levius, the Ajin: Demi-Human series, and the Godzilla Netflix Anime Movie Trilogy.
