Fresh off her standout role as Ji-Ah in HBO’s “Lovecraft Country,” THR reports today that Jamie Chung has joined the cast of “Dexter,” Showtime’s fresh revival of their own series.
“Chung will play Molly, a famous true-crime podcaster from Los Angeles.”
Additionally, “Oscar Wahlberg will play Zach, the captain of the Iron Lake High School wrestling team. He’s a bit of a bully, but generally the go-to-guy to have a good time. He’s the gateway to the in-crowd, which includes the daughter of the chief of police.”
Chung and Wahlberg join the returning Michael C. Hall in the revival, with the cast also including Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah and Jack Alcott.
“Set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival sees the character now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami.”
Clyde Phillips is back as showrunner for the revival, likely arriving in Fall 2021.
“Dexter” ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013.
