A Child Wishes a Sinister Monster into Existence in IFC Midnight’s ‘The Djinn’ This Coming May

Wish, master.

Announced by Deadline today, IFC Midnight has acquired the horror movie The Djinn for release here in the States, with plans to bring the film to theaters and Digital on May 14.

David Charbonier and Justin Powell (The Boy Behind the Door) directed the film, which “follows a mute young boy who unleashes a sinister monster after he makes a wish to fulfill his greatest desire: to have a voice. Now trapped in a small apartment with nowhere to hide, Dylan must find a way to survive until the stroke of midnight or pay the ultimate price.”

Ezra Dewey, Rob Brownstein, and Tevy Poe star.
