Seth Rogen took a break from showing off his latest ceramic creations on Twitter to let Ted Cruz know that he thinks he’s a “fascist” who “deserves ridicule,” repeatedly—and Cruz spent plenty of time volleying back.
The multi-day back and forth between the Texas senator and the actor all began when Cruz tweeted out a screenshot of Rogen’s profane reply to his tweet about President Biden choosing “Paris over Pittsburgh.” “Charming, civil, educated response @Sethrogen,” the senator wrote. “If you’re a rich, angry Hollywood celebrity, today’s Dems are the party for you. If you’re blue-collar, if you’re a union member, if you work in energy or manufacturing…not so much. #JobsMatter.”

He followed that up by retweeting a video of a Pittsburgh official saying that Cruz is a climate change and COVID-19 denier who encouraged the insurrections by questioning the election’s integrity and has no credibility, writing, “Hey @tedcruz. Watch this and then go fuuuuuuuck yourself you clown. (This is way more fun now that I know he’s for sure seeing my tweets).”
His friend and co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt also got in on the action, retweeting Cruz and writing, “Mr. Senator, as @sethrogen’s non-threatening buddy, perhaps I can translate ‘fascist’ into more charming and civil terms. Your support of the former President’s attempts to baselessly overturn a democratic election is reminiscent of supporters of Hitler, Mussolini, and others.”
Cruz kept going, and then Walt Disney got involved:
The actor once again replied, writing, “As someone who has Tourette’s in their family (and also has a very mild case himself), I once again take great pleasure in telling you to go fuck yourself. (Also VERY few cases of Tourette’s manifest in uncontrollable swearing. Most cases, like mine, manifest in twitching.)” He then added in a follow-up tweet, “Also you’re a fucking fascist. Shut up and go away” and “All jokes aside, @tedcruz is a fascist piece of shit.”
