A new movie adaptation of the popular tabletop roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons is finally happening, with Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, co-directors of 2018’s hilarious comedy Game Night and writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming, on board to direct. And Deadline brings us the word today that Chris Pine has now signed on to star!
The upcoming adaptation comes courtesy of Hasbro/eOne and Paramount. The movie, according to Deadline’s report, is said to “take a subversive approach to the game.”
Goldstein and Francis Daley are also writing the script.
Designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, Dungeons & Dragons was first published in 1974.
Between 2000 and 2012, three Dungeons & Dragons films were released.
