Kim Kardashian West Could Always Have Fun and Not Post About It

While most of us were playing a game of “Is this COVID? Or is this my election-induced depression trying to give my seasonal depression a kiss?,” Kim Kardashian West was celebrating her 40th birthday on a remote island with a handful of her closest friends. The reality television magnate tweeted about it, bless her, in a thread on Tuesday.

“After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time,” she wrote, referring to people like Scott Disick, Kourtney Karadashian, Jonathan Cheban, Khloe Kardashian, Tristan Thomson, and Kendall Jenner, all in the photos she and others shared.

“Before COVID, ” the birthday girl wrote, “I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment.” All together, she continued, they “danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more.”

She continued, “I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is.”

Right now!!! Kim said “right now.” The almost-billionaire is enunciating all the right sounds of humility. She is mouthing the right shapes of the words around self-awareness. But what’s coming out is, just let me have this you people, please let me have this. To which I am yelling back, sure, but give me some of your money first, lady!

It’s not that no one can have a nice time right now. People can have a nice time! Please tell me how to have a nice time, less than a week to the election in the middle (?) of a global pandemic when my sources have just informed me that daylight savings time ends this weekend

Some people had fun on Twitter with one particular tweet of hers, and that’s something of a good time.  But Kim can not have fun. Fun is on pause for her. Alternatively, she can always have fun and not post about it. That is an available option as well! Do a big “close friends” Instagram story and have all included sign an NDA! That is always an option. In the immortal words of someone great, “Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister’s going to jail.”
