First-Person Asymmetric Multiplayer Game ‘Nemesis: Distress’ Announced For PC

Fans of the Nemesis board game can look forward to developers Ovid Works and Awaken Realms Digital’s Nemesis: Distress, a first-person multiplayer game adaption currently in development for PC, with a Steam release. Described as “a multiplayer-focused game with a hidden traitor aspect, as well as shooter and survival elements,” Nemesis: Distress has players playing through 40-minute scenarios to try to fulfill their secret objective and survive.

The story for Nemesis: Distress has players awakening from a cryosleep to discover that all hell has broken loose. Your ship is stuck in the middle of nowhere, with multiple systems compromised. Making matters worse is that you and the rest of the crew aren’t alone on the ship. You have no idea what happened, nor do you know who you can trust, as everyone has their hidden agendas.

Players choose one of the asymmetric character classes, all with special actions that come in handy during specific situations. They will also select the secret objective they have to fulfill in order to win the game. While the implant inside your character blocks any direct negative interaction with other members of the crew (such as shooting other crew members), there are plenty of indirect ways to make the lives of other players harder.

Not to mention that there will be the constant threat of evolving Intruders that slowly take over the ship. While it is possible to kill them, it’s not an easy task.
