Hip-hop megastar Nicki Minaj made an appearance at an event to announce Section 530A retirement accounts (which the administration is calling “Trump Accounts”), a project to which she is donating between $150,000 and $300,000.
“I am probably the president’s number one fan and that’s not going to change,” she said as she took the stage with Donald Trump looking over her shoulder. “And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”

“We won’t let them get away with bullying him, and you know, this [inaudible] campaign, it’s not going to work, OK? He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him,” Minaj said.
Trump leaned in to tell her something, and she awkwardly pointed towards her right, asking if she should exit that way, and she left the stage.

“MAGA Minaj” has become an increasingly outspoken supporter of Trump, partly due to her opposition to transgender people’s rights. At a Turning Point USA event in December, she said that Trump was “handsome” and then told trans girls to “be boys”: “It’s nothing wrong with being a boy. How about that? How powerful is that? How profound is that? Boys will be boys, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
Earlier this month, she called gay journalist Don Lemon “Don ‘c**k suckin’ Lemon” and “disgusting” after he broadcast a protest at a church in Minnesota. Conservatives have claimed that the protest, which was about opposition to ICE, was an attack on “Christian worshippers.”
