The Millions’ Great Winter 2026 Preview

When Sophia Stewart drops a seasonal preview, I link to it. Simple as that. Early 2026 seems particular stacked with interesting new books. Usually in January I can take a little breather and maybe cheat to catch up on 2025 things I have missed, but I am already now two weeks behind on new releases. Plenty here for most readers to not be able to read everything we want, which is the best of all possible frustrating worlds.

Out of Print Books are Hot. Or Are They.

This round-up of short Q&A’s with editors at reissue imprints suggests some sort of resurgence in demand for out of print books. Certainly there have been a few new imprints spun up over the last 5 years or so, but are these books selling? Would been nice to have seen some sales numbers trends, even directionally. In coming up with this list, as with others that will be released throughout the year, we looked back not only at some of our personal favorites, but also at the books that changed the landscape of the genre and became instant classics. We looked at the books that impacted culture beyond the pages and created massive fandoms. Here are the fantasy books that top our charts this century so far.
