Kristy Scott Files to Legally Ditch Husband Desmonds Last Name (Excl)

Kristy Scott no longer wants to go by the last name that made her famous.

The TikTok star, 30, has filed to legally ditch her estranged husband Desmond Scott’s last name following the end of their 11-year marriage.

In her divorce petition obtained exclusively by Us Weekly, Kristy — who goes by Kristy Sarah on Instagram and TikTok — asked the court to restore her surname to her maiden name, Small.

The two wed in 2014 and share two children: sons Vance, 7, and Westin, 6.

Kristy filed for divorce in Texas on December 30, 2025. In her filing, she accused Desmond, 31, of infidelity, Us can confirm.

She also made it clear that there was no chance of reconciliation and noted they “will soon stop living together as husband and wife,” per the court documents.

Desmond later publicly addressed their split.

“I want to begin by apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation,” he announced via his Instagram Story on Saturday, January 10. “I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused.”

Desmond continued, “Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been.”

He also broke his silence on her cheating claims.

“Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them,” Desmond explained to his followers. “Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this.”

While he acknowledged that he made “choices that I am not proud of” as they tried to work through things, Desmond noted, “I took responsibility for those actions” and “shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce.”

He concluded his message by asking for “privacy and compassion” during this “difficult chapter in our lives.”

He also vowed to continue sharing social media content.

“I’m grateful for that support and I will continue sharing my love for cooking and the things that inspire me,” Desmond stated. “I hope you’ll continue that journey with me.”

The news of Kristy and Desmond’s divorce came as a shock to fans, considering the pair had known each other since they were 14 and rose to social media fame with light-hearted videos showing what appeared to be a positive marriage and family dynamic.

The exes celebrated a milestone in 2024 with a special event to honor their 10-year wedding anniversary.

“The theme of the party was focused on floral elegance. Our guests felt like they were walking into a garden,” Kristy and Desmond told People at the time. “Our aim was to be elegant and timeless.”

They also reflected on how far they’ve come since their early days of marriage.

“We were teenagers and hadn’t even developed any style preferences, so this was our chance to redo our wedding as the adults that we are now, celebrating the life we’ve built and journey thus far!” Kristy and Desmond added. “This felt even more special than our wedding.”
