Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) has introduced a resolution to declare June as “Family Month.” Her resolution is (unsurprisingly) supported by anti-LGBTQ+ organizations like the Family Research Council, Moms for America, and The American Family Project.
“The American family is under relentless attack from a radical leftist agenda that seeks to erase truth, redefine marriage, and confuse our children,” Miller told the right-wing outlet The Daily Wire. “By recognizing June as Family Month, we reject the lie of ‘Pride’ and instead honor God’s timeless and perfect design. If we truly want to restore our nation, we must stand united to protect and uphold the foundation upon which it was built — the family.”

They also threatened to end funding for a state university for allowing a trans woman to join a sorority.
“The month of June was first declared as Pride Month by President Bill Clinton in 1999 and has been done so by Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, rejecting the importance of marriage and family,” Miller’s resolution reads, stating that since then, “Americans are inundated with perverse Pride Month displays and events throughout the month of June that denigrate the nuclear family.”

The resolution say that American civilization depends on the “continuation of traditional marriage and family,” and calls upon the House of Representatives to recognize the societal benefits of heterosexual marriage, and to no longer recognize June as Pride Month.
Miller may be happy to know that the current president hasn’t issued any proclamation recognizing June as Pride Month.
Miller has previously filed legislation to make it a felony to send any explicit adult images to any person for any reason, an anti-transgender bathroom bill she says will fight “radical gender ideology” being pushed “on our children,” and a so-called “women’s rights” bill that would try to redefine “women” in a way that excludes trans women.
In 2022, Miller was one of 157 Republicans who voted against a bill requiring the federal and state governments to recognize same-sex marriages.
Miller has also referred to Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), the only trans congresswoman, as “a gentleman,” called the overturning of abortion rights nationwide a “victory for white life,” and has repeatedly said that climate change is clearly fake because God controls the sun.
