Executive Producer Talks ‘American Idol’ Judges For Next Season

The American Idol executive producer is dishing about the judges for next season. The current season is coming to an end, and someone will win the reality singing competition. So, who will be back at the judges’ table and who could be getting the axe? Keep reading for further details.

Executive Producer On American Idol Judges’ Fate

After last season of American Idol, big changes had to be made as Katy Perry exited as a judge. She sat alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, so the question of who would replace her was everywhere. Eventually, Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood was chosen, and many felt she would be perfect. Mainly because she had the experience of not only going through the competition but also being successful after. Now, the big question is whether she will be back next season.

The show’s executive producer is speaking up about what to expect next season. Will all three of the judges return, or will there be a major shakeup per the viewers’ request? The Idol showrunner and EP, Megan Michaels Wolflick, had this to say, first about the popularity and longevity of the series:

It seems that the three judges are beloved, but their American Idol future is up in the air for now. Megan Michaels Wolflick went on to chat about Jelly Roll, who is the show’s first-ever Artist in Residence. He has helped the contestants since Hollywood week, and he has been such an inspiration. Some feel he should have a bigger role in the series, but Megan loves him so much because he is a true fan of the show. More so, it has been a “dream” for them to have him on the show. Right now, the show is focusing on the season finale and the excitement behind that. After that, decisions can be made.

Would you like all three of the judges to return, or is it time to switch it up? More so, do you want to see Jelly Roll return? Let us know and watch the American Idol finale, Sunday May 18th on ABC.
