TikToker’s ‘Grindr Wrapped’ Reveals Year-End Hookup Stats

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

While most people are posting their Spotify Wrapped and Reddit Recaps, TikTok creator Joshua Fox (@jshfx) has gone in a different direction. Instead of sharing music or online activity stats, he decided to highlight a full year of his Grindr encounters.

A Bold and Honest Look at Hookups

Fox’s “Grindr Wrapped” review breaks down the past 12 months of his dating life. He documented everything, including how many men he met, how often he learned their names before meeting, and even how he felt afterward. In total, he met 84 men this year. That may sound like a lot, but Fox pointed out that it’s actually 163% fewer than last year.

Crunching the Numbers

Fox’s homemade charts show that he spent 55% of his time as a top. He also revealed that he asked his partners’ names only 13% of the time. He explained that most encounters happened near his home, with a small percentage occurring during a visit to America.

Emotional Aftermath

Not all the data is lighthearted. Fox admitted that the most common feelings he experienced after these hookups were “shame” and “regret.” These honest admissions struck a chord with viewers. Many praised the video for being humorous, eye-opening, and painfully relatable.

Viewer Reactions and Grindr’s Response

The video quickly went viral, earning over 2.6 million views in just two days. Some viewers promised to listen without judgment. Others teased that they were “listening and judging.” Even the official Grindr account praised the creativity, calling the presentation “so good.”

Beyond the Stats: A Path to Healing

Fox’s project isn’t just a fun year-end summary. He created it as part of an effort to be transparent about his struggles following a divorce. In a later video, he announced his upcoming book, “What You Into?” The book details his journey through hookup culture and his attempts to process heartbreak.

Finding Meaning in the Madness

After his husband left, Fox wrote to cope and understand his emotions. The result is a story about seeking validation through casual sex and feeling trapped in a toxic cycle. Many people can relate to these struggles but rarely speak about them. By sharing his personal data, Fox hopes to spark conversations and help others recognize that they are not alone.
