Irish Vampire Movie ‘Feed’ Pits Social Media Influencers Up Against Vampires

Based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula as well as an Irish legend, the upcoming vampire movie Feed has begun production ahead of the American Film Market next week, Deadline reports.

From director Marco van Belle (Mercy), the upcoming vampire movie Feed is being shot in Ireland. Fitting, given that the film is inspired by the Irish myth of the Dearg Due.

According to Wikipedia (linked above), “Dearg-due, an Irish name meaning ‘red bloodsucker,’ is a female demon that seduces men and then drains them of their blood.”

“The film follows a group of twenty something social media influencers who spend a weekend at a remote contemporary house in an Irish forest, and must fight for their lives when they awaken the world’s original vampire from her slumber.”

Grace Collender (Fréwaka) stars alongside Clinton Liberty (House of The DragonTouchdownNormal People), Daisy Jelley (How To Have SexGeek Girl), Niamh Hogan (In The Land of Saints and SinnersVikings), Rhys Mannion (Freud’s SessionSilver and The Book of Dreams) and Oskar Smith (Dead & Buried, The Young Offenders).

“With people using social media to make their mark and get rich quick, I’m fascinated to explore the fragility of modern influencer culture by putting our characters against a ruthless creature that has the true power of influence,” Marco van Belle said in a statement.
