“Chucky” Canceled at Syfy and USA After Three Seasons

This Friday brings the saddest of news toChucky” fans. Variety reports that the series has been canceled.

The horror comedy series aired on both USA Network and Syfy. According to Variety’s sources, “There had been discussions of bringing the show back for an abbreviated final season or even a wrap-up film, but ultimately to no avail.”

“I’m heartbroken over the news that ‘Chuckywon’t be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have, series creator Don Mancini said in a statement. “I’d like to thank UCP/SYFY/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky’s cold heart. Chucky will return! He ALWAYS come back.”

Chucky Season 3 recently sliced its onto Blu-ray on August 13, 2024. The Chucky Season 3 finale ended with the lovable killer doll breaking the fourth wall and directly addressing the fans, officially announcing that, well, he was running for a fourth term. While it appears he won’t get that fourth term, we can likely see him again in feature form… eventually.

“He’ll be back,” Don Mancini promises tonight.

Brad DourifJennifer Tilly, and Devon Sawa, alongside Lara Jean Chorostecki, Zackary Arthur, Björgvin Arnarson, and Alyvia Alyn Lind starred in the series created by Don Mancini.

The hit horror series was produced by UCP and was executive produced by creators Don Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfroe.

When Bloody Disgusting spoke with Brad Dourif and Fiona Dourif during season three, they teased Mancini’s planned fourth season…

Brad Dourif emphasized, “And you should hear the pitch for season four – but you can’t – but that will be even better. He keeps topping himself.”

Fiona Dourif added at the time, “He topped himself with the story concept for season four. I hope to god we get to do it. Yeah, he told me about it on my birthday in a restaurant, and I was howling. I hope we get to do it.”
