Check Out the First 90 Minutes of Bloober’s ‘Silent Hill 2’ Remake [Video]

Regardless of how you feel about Bloober Team’s upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2, it still would be cool to see it in action. Japanese YouTuber 2BRO recently streamed the first 90 minutes of Silent Hill 2, which will give fans a chance to spot the similarities and differences between Konami’s 2001 classic and Bloober’s efforts.

Silent Hill 2 concerns James Sunderland, who travels to the town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife Mary, who had been suffering from an illness and died three years earlier. There, James meets Maria, a woman who strongly resembles Mary, but something is different about this woman…

The Silent Hill 2 remake moves from the original’s fixed-camera viewpoints to an over-the-shoulder perspective, putting players closer to what James sees, for a more immersive experience. The addition of ray tracing and other cutting-edge technical enhancements brings the world of Silent Hill and its unsettling ambiance to a new generation. Familiar weapons like the steel pipe and handgun make their return, but now with an updated combat system. You’ll be able to avoid attacks with carefully timed dodges, aim down sights, and more.

Silent Hill 2 will launch for PC via Steam and the PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are also available.

Thanks to Gematsu for the heads up.
