5 of This Week’s Coolest Horror Collectibles Including a Bloody ‘Abigail’ Toy from Funko

Killer Collectibles highlights five of the most exciting new horror products announced each and every week, from toys and apparel to artwork, records, and much more.

Here are the coolest horror collectibles unveiled this week!

The People’s Joker Blu-ray from Altered Innocence

After sparking controversy on the festival circuit, The People’s Joker found a home with Altered Innocence. The coming-of-age trans superhero parody will hit Blu-ray on August 13.

Vera Drew makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with Bri LeRose. Drew also stars with Kane Distler, Nathan Faustyn, Lynn Downey, and David Liebe Hart. Tim Heidecker, Bob Odenkirk, Maria Bamford, and Scott Aukerman make cameos.

Joe Lipsett’s review raves, “The People’s Joker is an unabashed love letter to Batman properties, to camp, stand-up comedians, and – most importantly – the trans community. It is daring and ambitious and unapologetic.”

Special features include: commentary by Drew; commentary by Drew and Faustyn; commentary with assorted cast and crew; discussion with Drew and Corpses, Fools, and Monsters authors Willow Catelyn Maclay and Caden Mark Gardner; Queebso TV; Behind the Scenes; and a 24-page comic book.

Abigail Funko Pop

Abigail is getting the Funko Pop treatment. Due out in September, the 3.75″ vinyl figure costs $13.

Given the film’s last-than-stellar box office performance which is, of course, not indicative of its quality this may be the only official merch we get of the ballerina vampire.

Drive Steelbook 4K UHD from Sony

Drive will have a clean getaway on Steelbook 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital on August 27 via Sony. The 2011 neo-noir action drama is presented in 4K with Dolby Vision, approved by director Nicolas Winding Refn.

Ryan Gosling stars with Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman, Oscar Isaac, and Albert Brooks. Hossein Amini (Snow White and the Huntsman) wrote the script, based on James Sallis’s 2005 novel of the same name.

Special features include: Back in the Driver’s Seat, a new featurette with Hendricks, Perlman, Amini, editor Mat Newman, and composer Cliff Martinez; an interview with Refn; four featurettes, and the trailer.

Skinamarink Print from Mutant

Rafa Orrico embraces Skinamarink‘s unconventional aesthetic while exploring the fears that crawl under our skin with his artwork for the Kyle Edward Ball film.

First released at Texas Frightmare Weekend, 24×36 screen prints are now available for $60 online at Mutant. Limited to 75, they’re expected to ship at the end of the month.

Crocodile Blu-ray from Synapse Films

Crocodile will chomp into Blu-ray on July 9 from Synapse Films. The 1979 Thai film has been newly restored from the original English 35mm camera negative.

Produced by Dick Randall (Pieces, Slaughter High), the Jaws-inspired monster movie is directed by Sompote Sands. Nat Puvanai, Ni Tien, Angela Wells, Kirk Warren, and Robert Chan star.

Special features include: commentary by film historian Lee Gambin; interview with original director Won-se Lee; deleted/alternate scenes; and the theatrical trailer.

Destroy All Neighbors VHS from Witter Entertainment

Bonus item for shameless self promotion! Destroy All Neighbors is available on officially licensed VHS for $25 from Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment.

The tape includes exclusive cast/crew introductions and a behind-the-scenes featurette after the film. For optimal VHS viewing, the film has been cropped to 4:3 full frame, approved by director Josh Forbes (Contracted: Phase II).

Meagan Navarro’s review called Destroy All Neighbors “a Frank Henenlotter-inspired comedy full of guts and rock ambition.”

Jonah Ray and Alex Winter star in the Shudder original horror-comedy with Randee Heller, Pete Ploszek, Kiran Deol, Jon Daly, Thomas Lennon, and Kumail Nanjiani. Mike Benner (Bob’s Burgers), Jared Logan (The Late Late Show with James Corden), and Charles A. Pieper penned the script.
