Kit Connor Strips Down in New’ Romeo & Juliet’ Teaser

Heartstopper star Kit Connor goes shirtless in the first teaser for Broadway’s Romeo and Juliet, co-starring Rachel Zegler (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes). You may remember earlier this year when the pair teased their roles with cryptic “R” and “J” posts on Instagram. Luckily, Connor later confirmed he would play Romeo in the new Broadway adaptation of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy.

The new trailer, set to Bleachers’ song “Tiny Moves,” features Kit showing off his muscled physique in various scenes, including a steamy bedroom moment and a bath filled with cuddly toys with Zegler.

Unsurprisingly, fans have reacted enthusiastically. One comment perfectly captures the excitement, stating, “Kit Connor has mastered playing ‘down bad.’”

Directed by the acclaimed Sam Gold, with sizzling moves by Sonya Tayeh, this is an edgy, modern Shakespeare revival. It also features a gripping soundtrack by Grammy king Jack Antonoff. The teaser showcases the new edge, beginning with Romeo ringing the doorbell of a suburban house marked “Capulet.”

According to the official synopsis, “The youth are f**ked. Left to their own devices in their parents’ world of violent ends, an impulsive pair of star-crossed lovers hurtle towards their inescapable fate. The intoxicating high of passion quickly descends into brutal chaos that can only end one way.”

Romeo and Juliet will run at the Circle in the Square Theatre for 16 weeks, starting on September 26. In the meantime, early access registration for tickets is open now, with general sale tickets available via Ticketmaster.
